Fordtown Baptist Church started out as Fordtown Mission Church, Sullivan County, as an extension or arm of the original Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church
beginning in 1848.
The congregation met in the hewn-log Kitzmiller
School House (the first 2 members being baptized on March 25, 1848 were
Alexander & Lacky Ford.
Fordtown Baptist Church was organized into a church on May 30, 1879, with 108 Charter Members (From Buffalo Ridge Church). To date, the church has been shepherded by 30 faithful pastors.
